Tweetsie Railroad Fireworks Extravaganza
All aboard for a full day of Wild West fun starting at 10:00 AM with steam train rides, live shows, classic amusement rides, and the High Country’s largest fireworks display at 9:30 PM. A beloved tradition since 1957. This High Country tradition is a must-see!
Beech Mountain Water Party & Giant Slip-n-Slide
Cool off with a 100-foot slip-n-slide on Beech Mountain’s sledding hill! This splashy celebration is great for families, with special slides for the little ones too. Weather-dependent but absolutely worth it. Located on Beech Mountain’s public sledding hill, this event is held from 12 - 3 P.M.
Live Music: Mason Jar Confessions
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere! Celebrate with cool brews and even cooler tunes. Catch free live music by Mason Jar Confessions at Southend Brewing Co. located centrally in Boone, right on King Street. An easygoing vibe in the heart of downtown Boone!
Tweets Railroad Firework Display
Run, hike, or climb to Sugar Mountain’s 5,300-foot summit! Finishers get a t-shirt and a scenic lift ride back down. Live music and local eats await at the top. The start whistle blows at 9:00 A.M. – don’t be late! Register here in advance.
Boone’s 4th of July Parade & Fireworks
Get a look at our small-town charm on full display! Bright and early on July 4th, Boone’s King Street transforms into a patriotic procession, followed by festivities at the Jones House and fireworks later at Clawson-Burnley Park. Arrive early– parking is free but limited! The parade begins at 11:00 A.M.!
On July 4th-5th join Betsy’s Farm in celebrating under the stars with live music, tubing, kayaking, bonfires, and a fireworks show at this rustic two-day festival. Fire spinning? You bet. It’s as mountain magic as it gets. This event begins at 4:00 P.M. and lasts until midnight.

This Main Street parade is what summer dreams are made of – complete with floats, music, shopping, food, hometown charm and a free shuttle from Shoppes on the Parkway (unless you are booked at The Getaway! Where the parade is just steps from your door!) The parade begins at 10:00 A.M. so make sure to get your coffee brewing and your chairs ready!
Independence Day Celebration at Hickory Ridge Museum
Step back in time with colonial reenactments, tomahawk throwing, live music, and a stirring reading of the Declaration of Independence. A hands-on, history-filled adventure for all ages! This amazing celebration is held July 5th-6th from 1- 6 P.M.
